Leaf: Take Two

This is one of the other angles I got of that random Autumn-esque leaf on my lawn.

It's tough to choose which is my favorite out of this shot and the one in my previous entry. They seem to have very different feels to them. I like this one a lot because of the brightness of the sky and the sun and the various colors and tones. I really think it's the sunlight in this one that makes it stand out to me though. It creates a pretty cool effect up there at the top of the shot.

Impending Autumn

True, I took this photo in the midst of Spring, and I found the fact that there was a very Autumn-ish leaf stuck in the grass of our front yard a bit odd. So there's the title, even though the actual time frame is quite off.

If you look back a few entries, you'll see a photo I took of my Megatron toy. It was a warm and very sunny day outside, so I figured I'd go a-wandering with my camera and, you know, use it. The I got the idea to take my Megatron toy outside and see if I could get something cool out of it, and indeed, I did. However, while I was taking photos of a toy that show just how much of a geek I am, I saw this leaf on the lawn that looked very out of place. So, I crept up on said leaf, set my camera on the ground and angled it up toward the sun, and snapped three quick shots [adjusting a bit in between so they didn't all look the same]. This was the second photo out of the three I took. It's by far my favorite because of the wide array of colors you can see. From the shadowy blues and bright greens in the grass, and colors ranging from red, to orange, and even some purple in the leaf. I hope you like it as much as I do. Till next time!

Connected

Not really sure why, but I seem to like the way telephone poles look. Maybe it's the wires that make all the lines running up, down, and across streets. I'll probably never know.

So this is the top of a telephone pole across the street from my house. It made me happy that I snapped it at the right time of day to make the pole come out rather dark and the sky be bright blue in the background. Not really sure what else to say here. Hmm. Till next time, I suppose.

Washed Out

Again, my apologies for the gaps in postings. Things were a bit crazy the past few days, but I won't get into that now. After all, that's not what you come here for, is it?

I love rainy days. I definitely prefer warm and raining, but lately it's been a bit chilly and very damp outside. I love how, every once in a while, you get those rainy and very overcast days that seem to wash the color out of everything. It allows you to look at everything outside and see it completely different. I think it's quite beautiful, personally.

This is a photo I took of my neighbors tree on one of those days that sucks the color from everything. A bit terrifying, seeing as how I had to lean out of my second floor bedroom window to get this particular perspective. However, I'm proud to say that I didn't drain the color in photoshop and that my camera actually captured what I was going for. It was worth the risk. As gorgeous as this tree is on sunny days, with it's pinks and whites shining in all their glory, it is just as beautiful when it's washed out in a mid spring rain.
